Make Your Child a Math Wizard

We interact with thousands of students every month. We find that a good number of students show poor command over the tables. A few of them have gone to the higher classes say IX and X and still they rely on finger counting. When faced with multiplication like 18 × 7 they follow the complete multiplication steps to get the answer. Due to this Calculation takes more time and even a simple mathematics paper seems difficult to the students. Most of the time students are not able to complete the paper.

This is a common story which you would hear from 85% of the population. There is no cure of this in conventional system. Therefore, we embarked on the journey of finding the cure and turned to Vedic Maths.

Magical Methods has developed a parent assisted course (for 8 years - 11 years) where we cure this symptom in the childhood only.

How your child would Benefit?

Removal of Finger Counting
He would calculate orally
Reduction in Rough Work
Would know Tables up to 99 and you can ask him from anywhere
Enhanced performance in school exam

Magical Methods Launches course to learn tables up to 99 without memorizing

Tables are building blocks of mathematics. If a student is good in tables then topics like division, long multiplication, fractions and algebra would be cake walk for him but if he is not good at it then he would find mathematics difficult. It is seen that those students who have not mastered tables very often fall behind in math and other subjects that use math and begin to loose marks and hence confidence. All because they did not memorize the times tables! But memorizing tables is not easy. Students hardly know tables of 14. Ask a student about it and he would tell you that he knows tables up to 12.

New Delhi, Delhi, September 12, 2011 /India PRwire/ -- Magical Methods has launched two New Courses for small children with main objective of teaching them tables up to 99 without memorizing. One course is for children in the age group of 8 - 11 years (class II - V) and another course is for the children in the age group of 13 - 15 years (Class VII - X). Why Students do Scratch work?

Do you do a lot of scratch work?

Be aware, if you are doing a lot of scratch work while solving problems. I have seen most of the students are doing a lot of scratch work while solving QA and DI problems. I have seen that most of the students fill all the space left for the rough work. If you provide them with three four extra sheets they do not mind. But do you know that a lot of scratch work takes a lot of time.

Let me take an example of computer and its working.

Have you ever worked on a computer? If you have then have you observed the difference between the speed by which CPU processes a print command and the printer does printing?

The CPU processes the command in less than a second where as the printer takes a full one minute to print a page. Why? Because the CPU processes the command electronically (equivalent to speed of light) and printer prints it mechanically.

The difference lies in electronic processing and mechanical processing.

Now, let us comeback and try to find out that in any way mental calculation on one hand and calculation using pen and paper are related to the analogy drawn above.

We can say that Mental calculation is equivalent to electronic processing and calculation using pen and paper is equivalent to mechanical processing.

My suggestion would be to convert your mechanical processing into electronic processing.

Finding Square of an adjacent number: One below

Likewise, you can find out square of a number that is one less than the number whose square is known.
Let me show it by taking an example:
Say you know 602 = 3600
Then 592 will be given by the following
592 = 602 - (60 + 59) = 3600 - 119 = 3481
or Say you know 252 = 625 then
242 = 625 - (25 + 24) = 576
Apply it to find square of a digit, which is one, less than the square of known digit. This works very well for the complete range of numbers.

More details can be found at Magical Methods

Finding Square of an adjacent number: One up

You know the squares of 30, 40, 50, 60 etc. but if you are required to calculate square of 31 or say 61 then you will scribble on paper and try to answer the question. Can it be done mentally? Some of you will say may be and some of you will say may not be. But if I give you a formula then all of you will say, yes! it can be. What is that formula…..
The formula is simple and the application is simpler.
Say you know 602 = 3600
Then 612 will be given by the following
612 = 602 + (60 + 61) = 3600 + 121 = 3721
or Say you know 252 = 625 then
262 = 625 + (25 + 26) = 676
Like above, you can find out square of a number that is one less than the number whose square is known.

More details can be found at Magical Methods

Finding Square of a number ending with 5

After learning this you will be able to find square of a number ending with 5 say 25, 35, 45 etc. You can even try to find square of a three digit number ending with 5 say 105, 115, 125 etc.
Say you want to find square of 85
Do the following:
· Multiply 5 by 5 and put 25 as your right part of the answer.
· Multiply 8 by the next higher digit i.e 9 and put 72 as your left part of the answer.
· Your answer is 7225
You can use this formula to find square of any number ending with 5.

More details can be found at Magical Methods

How it has evolved over the years?

Bharti Krishna Tirthaji Maharaja (Shankaracharya of Goverdhan peeth) rediscovered Vedic Mathematics, during 1911 and 1919. The first book on these wonderful methods was written by him. "Vedic Mathematics" was the title suggested by him. He was the person who collected lost formulae from the writings of "Atharwa Vedas" and wrote them in the form of Sixteen Sutras and thirteen sub-sutras.
In 1998 when Mr. Pradeep Kumar started working on Vedic Mathematics, it was a little known subject and everybody who came to know about his decision discouraged him. At that point of time he felt that the vedic mathematics is incoherent. You had so many pearls around but all those pearls needed to be arranged in a way to form a necklace. In other words Vedic Mathematics needed to be arranged in a systematic way so that trainers can teach it and derive results.
Today, Magical Methods has made Vedic Mathematics teaching a systematic one, which delivers result. We have divided the whole system into Beginner Level, Medium Level, Expert Level and Advanced Level. Further advancement is uses of Vedic Mathematics in Intelligent Guessing i.e Super Advanced Level. Student up to class X needs only three levels of training. IIT JEE students should go through advanced level and MBA aspirants should go through Super Advanced Level.

While working with Vedic Mathematics people around the world started writing to Mr. Kumar about application of Vedic Mathematics for Kids segment i.e 6 years to 11 years (classes 1 to 6). He started thinking on this aspect and today we are offering "Mathematical Skill and Concentration Development Programme" and “Finger Counting and Silly Mistakes Removal Programme” for this segment. These programme has been divided into four Levels.
In this segment we use a lot of instruments viz. Magic Square, Math Carrom, Frog & Toad Game, Tower of Hanoi, Star Game, Double Star Game, Mind Development Games, which makes learning mathematics more than interesting.

Visit our Website for More Details.

Vedic Mathematics an Overview

The "Vedic Mathematics" is called so because of its origin from Vedas. To be more specific, it has originated from "Atharva Vedas" the fourth Veda. "Atharva Veda" deals with the branches like Engineering, Mathematics, sculpture, Medicine, and all other sciences with which we are today aware of. This wonderful method is re-introduced to the world by Swami Bharati Krisna Tirtha ji Mahaharaj, Shankaracharya of Goverdhan Peath. "Vedic Mathematics" was the name given by him. He was the person who collected lost formulae from the writings of "Atharwa Vedas" and wrote them in the form of Sixteen Sutras and thirteen sub-sutras.
